Tim has a background in agriculture. After university, Tim had time as a beef advisor with the SA Department of Ag followed by 10 years on the family farm.
Tim’s wide interest in all things agriculture led to a long career as a banker in an agribusiness role, and this took him across the country from Far North Queensland to southern Tasmania. The last move Tim and his family had brought them to Wagga nearly 19 years ago.
Since leaving the banking world Tim has had continued customer relationship roles in Wagga, and has been involved with Lions service club and volunteering work with St Vincent de Paul in assisting underprivileged people in Wagga.
During his banking life Tim experienced the emotional and financial difficulties farmers face when impacted by drought, fire, floods and cyclones as well as external economic factors. Tim found that the relationships he developed with his clients during this time was the most rewarding aspect of his work, and the empathy and understanding of their situations was greatly valued.
It was the opportunity to assist people through an emotional and sometimes difficult time that brought Tim to John Bance & Son. A desire to help families celebrate the lives of their loved ones is a core attribute of the business, and this is backed by a highly professional but empathetic approach to all aspects of supporting the family – it was these values that also attracted Tim to John Bance & Son.
Tim enjoys mountain biking, cycling, kayaking, riding his Ducati motorbike with friends, and together with his wife Ann helping their adult children discover their way through life.
